A mural for the Conservatorio di Musica di Vicenza "Arrigo Pedrollo"
The new artwork on the external wall of the Conservatorio di Musica di Vicenza “Arrigo Pedrollo” was unveiled on Thursday, 28 May.
Conceived by the artist Osvaldo Casanova, an expert in creating works for public spaces, the artwork was designed as a permanent feature within the urban and institutional context as part of the JERUS-IT-ARTS project, led by the Vicenza Conservatoire.
The new artwork consists of eight panels depicting the letters of the word ‘Pedrollo’, combined with figures of musicians and interwoven with an olive tree motif. The olive tree motif takes on a central symbolic significance: it evokes the Holy Land and the historical and cultural ties with Jerusalem, whilst also serving as an emblem of peace, mutual understanding, coexistence, and the coming together of different traditions.
