Fabrizio Lepri

A musician, researcher, and violin maker specializing in early music, after graduating in double bass, he furthered his studies in viola da gamba and historical performance practice at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, earning a second-level master's degree and furthering his training with some of the most authoritative performers of early European music. His work focuses on the philological reconstruction of historical musical instruments based on iconographic sources, a field in which he has developed internationally recognized expertise, collaborating with museums, cultural institutions, and research projects. He has created copies of original instruments, provided organological consultations, and conducted experimental instruments for contemporary artists. He is currently curator and instructor of a three-year project dedicated to the reconstruction of Early Renaissance Ferrarese instruments, funded by European funds and the Ministry of Culture. He teaches viola da gamba and organology at the "A. Pedrollo" Conservatory in Vicenza, the "F. Morlacchi" Conservatory in Perugia, and the Fiesole School of Music.
