Lucrezia Cippitelli
Lucrezia Cippitelli (Rome, 1974) is a researcher, curator, and Professor of Aesthetics at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where she coordinates the MA programme in Visual Culture and Curatorial Practices and the PhD programme “Research and Digital Transition in Museums and Art Galleries”. She co-directs the contemporary art programme at Kunsthaus Merano with the research and exhibition project The Invention of Europe. Her recent curatorial projects include Sammy Baloji. K(C)ongo, Fragments of Interlaced Dialogues. Subversive Classifications (Uffizi Galleries, Florence, 2022) and Georges Senga. Comment un petit chasseur païen devient prêtre catholique (Museum of Civilisations, Rome, 2022). She has also co-curated the 7th Lubumbashi Biennale, the Biennale Interactiva in Mérida (Mexico, 2005 and 2007), and the 2nd Bucaramanga Biennale Desde aquí (Colombia, 2016).
Within the JERUS-IT-ARTS project, she served as scientific and curatorial coordinator of Grandi Sogni, an international research, artistic production, and design programme dedicated to Palestinian visual cultures and contemporary material practices. As a member of the project’s Scientific Committee, she contributed to the development of its critical and research framework, focusing on contemporary Palestinian art, cultural resilience, and the concept of Sumud as a cornerstone of Palestinian identity and cultural heritage. She supervised and coordinated the exhibitions A Day in the Life. Young Palestinian Artists in Gaza Now (BASE Milano, 2026) and The Face of the City by Shereen Abedalkareem (LIFE Theatre Arts Media Festival, Fabbrica del Vapore, Milan, 2026), overseeing all stages of their conception, production, and dissemination. She also coordinated the public programme of lectures, performances, screenings, and discussions developed in collaboration with BASE Milano, ZONA K, and Casa degli Artisti, while mentoring students of the MA in Visual Culture and Curatorial Practices through an experimental curatorial laboratory centred on situated curatorial practices and international artistic exchange.
