VIM - the immaterial suitcase

VIM (la valigia immateriale-the immaterial suitcase) is a web app developed within the JERUS-IT-ARTS project by the Brera Academy of Fine Arts to collect field data forms directly from a smartphone. Users install it on their device's home screen (via Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android), log in with project-issued credentials, and fill in multilingual forms (Italian, English, and Arabic are available) even with an unstable connection. The app lets users attach media such as audio, video, photos, or existing files, and save drafts to resume later. Submissions are queued offline and synchronised automatically as soon as connectivity is restored. The site also offers setup guidance, reference screenshots, and a pre-fieldwork checklist to ensure login, microphone, camera, and storage all work before heading out.
