The "G. B. Martini" Conservatory of Music in Bologna hosted a delegation from the Conservatory of Hacettepe University in Ankara for a series of events devoted to the encounter between musical cultures. Through lectures, concerts, and workshops, students and faculty examined the repertoire and traditions of Turkish music in dialogue with the European context, within a programme that underscores the international dimension of musical education and fosters new artistic and pedagogical connections.

The first meeting took place on Saturday, 18 April 2026, with the lecture "Turkish Influences on Opera" delivered by Prof. Silvia Carrozzino, followed by the lecture-concert "Turkish Vocal and Instrumental Music" featuring Cemile Özlem Kılıç, Ozan Diyar Canan, and Yiğit Tan, a workshop on early music and recorder led by Prof. Jan Nigges, and a cello workshop conducted by Yiğit Tan.

On Monday, 20 April, the dialogue continued with two lectures held in the University Library: "Reviewing the Makâm Concept in Turkish Music" by Prof. Cenk Guray (delivered online) and "The First Western Musical Notation in Ottoman Turkish Music" by Dr. Ela Oksaş.

The events culminated in a joint concert by the Ensemble of the "Martini" Conservatory and Hacettepe University, held on Tuesday, 21 April, at 6:00 p.m. in the Oratory of St. Cecilia.
